Each year the Bacteraemia and Respiratory programmes are sponsored by a group of pharmaceutical companies. There are several major advantages for sponsors associated with the programmes. Firstly, it is an extremely economical way to obtain information about their molecule’s performance against recent relevant isolates because the costs of collecting the isolates and testing the panel of comparator agents are shared. Secondly, when results are published, they have the added credibility of having been obtained in a study run by an independent scientific society rather than by an individual company. Thirdly, several hundred microbiologists and clinicians have registered to use our website because they value the programmes and make use of the information they produce.
If you are interested in finding out more about the benefits of becoming a sponsor please contact us and we will be delighted to discuss the options available in more detail.
Below is a list of companies that have sponsored the programmes:
* A surveillance ‘season’ (e.g. 2001) applies to sponsorship of the bacteraemia study of that year (e.g. 2001) and/or the respiratory study starting the autumn before (e.g. 2000/2001).
